IN HONOR

"Memorial Day is a United States Federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who perished while in military service to their country. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War, it was expanded after World War I to include casualties of any war or military action."
Thank you to all who serve our country! We are so blessed to live in such a great place and have military to fight and defend our freedom! I know the sacrifice is great at times and I am truly greatful!!!

VIVA LAS VEGAS FOR DIERKS :-)

Better late than never...the first weekend in May I went to Vegas and here is the story :-)What a blast!!! I have been to a million concerts and this was bar far one of the best shows I have ever seen! It may have had a little something to do with the beautiful venue...the great friends...or the front row view ;) We got stuck in lovely Vegas traffic and were sure we would never make it in time. Well, my skillful driving got us to the Red Rock Resort with time to spare. We waited in line for about an hour and met these cute girls, Abby and Christy. Abby is Tina and Christy the pregnant brides maid in Tony N Tina's Wedding @ The Rio. They too were there for a little eye candy that night!
I have to admit, I was not so excited about Bucky Covington opening for Dierks. Boy did I change my mind on that real fast! He was a lot of fun to watch...not to mention his hottie brother on the drums :-)
Then Dierks...what can I say...AMAZING!!! I could watch him all night! He has such great energy and an awesome voice! What a wonderful night!

CHILLIN @ THE ZOO

I stole this pic off my sisters blog. I think it is so cute of my nephew (I know I'm bias) chillin in his stroller at the zoo. Haley and Vick took him for his frist time on Sunday and he loved it. She said he called every animal a dog...you can tell the animal of choice around the Ritchie family!

ONE LONG WEEK

So after 5 days of headaches and being a little cranky, I think I have made it through the Diet Coke withdrawls!!! That lack of caffeine is rough on me! Today is my one week mark and in my book that is HUGE! I will admit, I don't feel all that different. I think I was expecting more of a change. The best part about it is I am the boss of me not the Diet Coke ;) lol

DAYS WITHOUT DIET COKE

Hi my name is Kasey and I am an addict :-) my drug of choice is Diet Coke! So here is my attempt to quit the coke! It is almost 2:30 in the afternoon and I have had a splitting headache for hours now! So I think it would be safe to say that I do have an addiction and am now going through detox. I figure if I make a public announcement about my journey then it will be harder to not follow through with it...so here's to being a quitter!

CLAIM JUMPER

Dinner at Claim Jumper in Vegas was a lot of fun and good food! If you have never been to a Claim Jumper you are missing out! It is impossible to finish your dinner because the portions are HUGE and don't even think about chocolate cake when you are done! The table next to us ordered it and I am not kidding when I say it feeds 8 people easily.

BOOK TAG

I got tagged by Alisa, so here goes. The rules are:

1. Grab the closest book to you (it has to have at least 123 pages)
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Tag 5 other people.

Ha Ha Ha so I am reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter and page 123 is the start of a chapter and says 1970...so that is pretty boring!
But on page 122 there was a line that I underlined so I will share it...they are talking about a geode...
" He held it, warming in his palm, thinking off all the mysteries the world contained: layers of stone, concealed beneath the flesh of the earth and grass; these dull rocks, with their glimmering hidden hearts."

So now I tag: Jane, Melinda, Janae, Raegan and Megan

CHEERS TO JURY DUTY

So it seems lately everyone around me is being summoned to jury duty! I will admit that the inner detective in me would love to sit in on a trial and hear all of the gorey details but just my luck I would get some boring case of a traffic violation...so I guess I will keep my fingers crossed I don't get the dreaded letter! My friend... I won't mention names ;)... thought if she was not registered to vote she would not get summoned...guess what she got in the mail! I will stick to my fingers crossed method.
"When you go into court you are putting your fate into the hands of twelve people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty." Cheers to jury duty!!!

GIRLS-GIRLS-GIRLS

Last Wednesday was girls night! Yeah!!! I think we all needed it! We had a chill night at Megan's and got take out from Rumbi's. There was a little American Idol watching and lots of catching up...Megan busted out the camera and made Jeff snap a shot of us. Katie barley skiped a beat with having a baby! She looks great!!!

"Time isn't what makes a friendship last...It's love and devotion that keeps the tie between souls." Love my girls :-)
